Cards, Cards & More Cards

Been making cards again and thought this was the perfect place to keep copies. I have been practicing using just ink. Not normally my style but sure is fun to play with. These are starting to look the same. Now I want to try new colors and a couple different techniques.  Learning and playing!

This year for my sister's birthday I stole an idea right out of one of my favorite magazines, Cloth, Paper, Scissors.   This doll is a little on the creepy side but was so much fun to make.  Although Linda will probably rename her, I called this little gal Gina after the Italian beauty Gina Lollobrigida.

It Must Be My Lucky Day!

In the mail this weekend was a package of goodies from Linda who has been hosting some monthly swaps at A Swap for All Seasons.  Every month a lucky someone wins a prize.  I was the July winner!  Look at the fabulous things that were sent my way.  Thank you Linda!

Gelato Time

For awhile I have been seeing people creating things using Gelato Colors.   After reading up on them and a few YouTube videos later, I decided I had to have some.  As suggested by some online crafters I purchased Gel Sticks for ages 5 and up.  Gelato Colors and Gel Sticks about the same.  They are made by the same company and are about identical to the more expensive Gelato Colors.

My first simple project was this tag.  There are a couple 'oops' on this tag but it already found its way onto a bag of goodies I brought to a friend in the hospital.  The background color was made using the Gel Sticks. These are simple and fun to play with.  There is a million different ways to use these little gems and I hope to learn some and try a few.

My SFAS send-to partner was Marie at Spun by Me.   Marie is a sweet and talented gal and we have swapped a couple times in the past.   This is the card and tag I made for her.

In the mail the other day I received a fabulous envelope from May in the UK.   I absolutely love the card and tag May sent for the July swap.  They are a among the favorites I have received in the Swap for All Season monthly swaps.

At Last!

Four years ago I planted the start of this peony in my little garden.  Every year since it has just barely poked through the soil.  Last year I did not think it was going to survive the summer.  But it has and I was excited when I noticed the buds.  This one is for my mom.
