Gina, Gina ... So warm, so sweet, so shy.

This year for my sister's birthday I stole an idea right out of one of my favorite magazines, Cloth, Paper, Scissors.   This doll is a little on the creepy side but was so much fun to make.  Although Linda will probably rename her, I called this little gal Gina after the Italian beauty Gina Lollobrigida.

It Must Be My Lucky Day!

In the mail this weekend was a package of goodies from Linda who has been hosting some monthly swaps at A Swap for All Seasons.  Every month a lucky someone wins a prize.  I was the July winner!  Look at the fabulous things that were sent my way.  Thank you Linda!

Gelato Time

For awhile I have been seeing people creating things using Gelato Colors.   After reading up on them and a few YouTube videos later, I decided I had to have some.  As suggested by some online crafters I purchased Gel Sticks for ages 5 and up.  Gelato Colors and Gel Sticks about the same.  They are made by the same company and are about identical to the more expensive Gelato Colors.

My first simple project was this tag.  There are a couple 'oops' on this tag but it already found its way onto a bag of goodies I brought to a friend in the hospital.  The background color was made using the Gel Sticks. These are simple and fun to play with.  There is a million different ways to use these little gems and I hope to learn some and try a few.

Thank you May for sharing your creativeness...  and thank you for the goodies you sent along!

At Last!

Four years ago I planted the start of this peony in my little garden.  Every year since it has just barely poked through the soil.  Last year I did not think it was going to survive the summer.  But it has and I was excited when I noticed the buds.  This one is for my mom.

SFAS February Valentine Swap - Part 1

The February swap theme at SFAS was Valentine's Day.   My swap package arrived yesterday from Deb at Garage Sale Gal.   Everything was in this fabulous red 1958 vintage card box.  What a bonus!

Deb made this adorable card and tag.  I cannot decide if I want to send them to some lucky person or keep them for myself.  So sweet ...
And sent me some GREAT vintage valentines and de-stash.   One of the valentines jumped out at me right away.  It was specifically chosen for my sister and me.  What could be cuter than a pig wearing a bonnet!
Thank you Deb.  Everything was simply PERFECT!
